Centerville man wins national photo contest for ‘Sunwatch’ shot

Photographer Jim Crotty of Centerville won the Midwest division first place prize in the National Historic Landmark Photo Contest for a shot taken at SunWatch Indian Village and Archaeological Park in January 2008.

Winning photo

The winning photo of the reconstructed “Big House” across a frost field is on the cover of the 2009 National Historic Landmark Calendar. It is also the featured image for December.

The calendars retails for about $7.50 and can be purchased from the National Park Service or the U.S. Government Bookstore.

great photo? geez…..what is this world coming too….as a student of photography it is sick that anyone with a cell phone camera is now an expert.
