Mystery, suspense rule at library

Terry Morris, Dayton Daily News staff writer:

James Patterson, Stephenie Meyer and Jane O’Connor are Dayton’s favorite authors, judging by how often their names show up the list of 2008’s most popular books at the Dayton Metro Library.

But none of them was number one. That honor went to Janet Evanovich.

“Fearless Fourteen.” Her 14th novel about bounty hunter Stephanie Plum was the most checked-out book during a year when the library checked out more items than ever before, according to community relations manager Mark R. Willis.

Hottest category, as usual, was mystery/suspense.
