Which store has the best customer service?
Last week, the National Retail Federation published its fifth annual survey of retailers that offer the best customer service.
The survey, which polled 8,600 consumers, was conducted by consumer marketing intelligence firm BIGresearch in September.
Consumers were asked the open ended question: “Thinking of all the different retail formats (store, catalog, Internet or home shopping), which retailer delivers the best customer service?”
Turns out, for the third straight year, L.L. Bean was the answer for the most.
Here are the top 10:
L.L.Bean
Overstock.com
Zappos.com
Amazon.com
QVC
Coldwater Creek
HSN
Lands’ End
JCPenney
Kohl’s, and Nordstrom (tied)
For the complete list, see the NRF site.
I would have had Kohl’s higher and Walmart lower (it came in at 27th), and I would have put Office Depot and Dorothy Lane Market in there somewhere, but other than that I have no qualms.
What about you?
What area retailer or e-tailer do you think has the best customer service?(poll)

Pins found in pot pies, recall issued
It was reported Wednesday, Jan. 20, that pot pies sold as school fundraisers in 15 states — including Ohio — were recalled after straight pins were found inside one of them.
Wallet Pop noted the recall of the Park 100 Foods product, which was being sold by the fundraising firm Market Day.
Multiple Dayton-area schools use Market Day fundraisers, although it is not clear whether area schools sold these pot pies.
If your school was selling the pot pies, comment below to help others learn of the risk.
The Market Day representative said the organization is contacting affected schools regarding the recall.
The U.S. Department of Agriculture deemed the health risk “high” for this Class I recall.
The pot pies were sold through Dec. 30.
For more information, visit the USDA site or call Market Day at (877) 632-7753 or Park 100’s Corporate Director of Quality Jim Fish at (317) 853-4280.
