Area teen competing on ‘So You Think You Can Dance 7’
‘So You Think You Can Dance’ season 7 is high-kicking its way along and it appears we have an Ohioan in the this season’s version. Kent Boyd, 18, is a 2010 Botkins High School graduate and resident of somewhere between Wapakoneta and Botkins depending on the source. Boyd is vying for a spot at the top of this season’s competition, having made his way into the top ten.
So far in the competition the judges have been a little tough on this dance star wannabe, classifying his most recent performance as “a little green.”
Since Boyd’s appearance on SYTYCD, his popularity on Facebook.com has grown from a few followers to more than 8,000. In a suite101.com interview, Boyd is quoted as saying of his new-found fame “it’s very, very overwhelming, and I’m trying to take it day by day… It’s just so crazy for me to even think about people actually being my fans and actually being inspired by what I do.”
Do you think Boyd has what it takes to win?
‘So You Think You Can Dance’ season 7 airs on Fox on Wednesdays.

TweetA new reality TV series you’ll be talking about - ‘The Choir’ BBC America
Some of my favorite TV shows start out on British Television and somehow luckily, they make their way to the U.S. And so it is, ‘The Choir,’ set to air on BBC America this week, is just such a show. The premise of this popular U.K. show features a choirmaster, Gareth Malone, as he sets about to bring music back to selected schools and bring a community together through song.
- Photo Credit BBCAmerica.comDespite his boyish appearance, Malone 35, has studied at the University of East Anglia, spent two years at the Royal Academy, worked with London Symphony Orchestra and ran LSO St. LSO St. Luke’s Community and Youth Choir where producers found him and pitched the idea for the show.
“…bringing people together for a common purpose and singing some of the most beautiful music… I think everyone should have access to that…” - Gareth Malone
The show will air on Wednesdays starting July 7 at 10 PM. The series will run for four episodes.
TweetSantino Rice & Austin Scarlett to star in ‘Project Runway’ Spin-off
Hey ‘Project Runway’ Fans Remember Santino and Austin… well they’re back! Check this out. Designer divas Austin Scarlett and Santino Rice will hit the road for a new series on Lifetime called ‘On the Road with Austin & Santino.’
Variety.com is reporting that the designer duo will travel the country looking for women who need a makeover. People.com says the two will create “dream-come-true looks,” for women in “special circumstances.” The pair had larger than life personalities when Runway was airing on Bravo - so the pair together is likely to be amazing.
While we haven’t seen too much of Austin, Santino has been appearing as a judge on ‘RuPaul’s Drag Race’ - reruns of the last two seasons are still airing on Logo.
The “On the Road with Austin & Santino” is set to premiere July 29 at 10:30 p.m., following the premiere of the eighth season of “Project Runway,” Each eposide of will now be airing for a full 90 minutes. If this season is like last, that could be a boring 90 minutes!
