An “American Idol” injustice?

Oh, “American Idol” voters, why, oh why didn’t you send Tim Urban home?

I had such high hopes that justice would be served tonight when we learned the bottom three included Urban, Paige Miles and Lacey Brown.

But in the end, it was Lacey Brown who didn’t make the cut this week. Granted Lacey certainly wasn’t going to make it to the top against Crystal Bowersox, Siobhan Magnus and Didi Benami, she certainly deserved to stick around longer than Urban.

Tim Urban’s performance last night of the Rolling Stones’ “Under My Thumb” with a reggae twist was a total joke (although it was a notch above Ke$ha’s performance of “Blah, Blah, Blah” during tonight’s results show). That combined with the fact he’s been inconsistent from the beginning and didn’t even make the original Top 24.

Poor Lacey. The judges opted not to use their one save of the season on Lacey after her performance of Brandi Carlile’s “The Story,” one of her better performances in the competition.

The judges’ save is back for a second season and can be used between now and when the Top 5 contestants remain, but it must be unanimous. Last season, the judges saved Matt Giraud from elimination two weeks before the save was to run out. He ultimately finished fifth. Note, that after the judges used the save, they had to eliminate two contestants the following week.

Did you agree with tonight’s results?

Lacey should have been gone a long time ago! Idol is pretty boring this year!

I don’t. Tim had a great performance 2 weeks ago. All of the judges loved it. Paige, Didi and Katie should all go home before Tim does.

I think all of Tim’s performances have been bad. The kid can’t really sing. There’s no improvement anywhere that I can see and apparently there are a lot of people who agree with me.

I think it was time 4 her to go.. But there are others that should have stayed and she should have left long ago…

I disagree. I think Urban is good. He’s inexperienced, but he’s improving. His performance 2 weeks ago made a big impression on me. He was inspirational! That’s worth him sticking around even though he had a weak performance this week. I hope he sticks around long enough to prove himself. I don’t think he’ll win, so I suspect he’ll be going home soon, but hopefully not before Paige and Didi. I just don’t see a place for their music. I don’t see star potential in these two.

I think Lacey should have been sent packing earlier. To me she has no voice. Tim should be gone too as he has no talent either. Paige is good but the judges have taken a dis-liking to her for some reason. They should have never let Alex go as far as I’m concerned he was one of the best.

Kesha’s performed her new song Blah Blah Blah and her performance was blah blah blah! Didn’t care for the song, and WTF with the Indian headdress? She needs to regroup before she does any more performing. I like her tic toc song and her video, though. Maybe she’s a one hit wonder.

Siobhan had the strongest performance of all the idols. Siobhan is the one I can’t wait to see what she’ll do next. Crystal is the next Janis Joplin, and the most seasoned of the idols along with Casey. Crystal is the most consistent and might win if Siobhan lets her. Casey is still one of my favs. I love Aaron and find him more mature beyond his years. Waiting for Tim to have another great performance after his touching one 2 wks ago. I’m glad he’s still around. I’ve been ready for Paige and Didi and Katie to leave for weeks now. I don’t see star potential in any of them. Not sure there is a market for Mike’s music (remember Rueben?). Loved David Cook’s performance of Rolling Stones song, and thought it was the strongest performance of the night. Kesha looked like she was stumbling and might have been on something, or a tad tipsy imo. Orianti was off key most of her performance, but her guitar was still mean. David showed them all up last night. He’s still my favorite idol and my favorite artist of all.

Vote for the worst makes some waves every year, but usually the top 3 end up being right. I said that either Lacey or Tim would go last night. Tim, Andrew or Katie will go next week. Mike, Crystal and Siobhan will be the top 3 come May.

VoteForTheWorst is successful again this year! Their pick is Tim Urban, and they will probably vote him all the way to the finals! They ruin this show every year. Maybe the webmaster there should GET A LIFE and stop trying to destroy the careers of the talented folks who dare to try-out.
