The “Fifth-Grader” appearance was two years ago. Kellie may not been smarter than a fifth-grader, but her motivation was pure. Kellie wanted to make money for charity and she succeeded, raising $50,000 in one night. The fans who have followed Kellie since then knows two things: She’s never stopped being generous and she’s never stopped learning. Her are some things about Kellie that you might not know: — With the USO, Kellie’s been to Iraq, Afghanistan, Kosovo, England and Germany. I’m sure she knows much more about the world than she did two years ago. — Her first songwriting experience came by phone while on the “American Idols” summer tour. She learned well enough to earn five co-writing credits on her first album and honors from ASCAP. She’s now a featured writer in the CMA Songwriters Series. — Kellie reads constantly now. She likely wasn’t a bookworm back in high school, but she’s certainly one now. — Kellie’s been on two USO tours, and may go on two more this year. In the Middle East, Kellie visited some remote sites that other entertainers shunned because of the danger. This helped make Kellie a huge hit, from privates on up to generals. — Kellie came home from the last USO tour with back problems because of the heavy packs she had to carry on her slight frame, yet she never hesitated to sign up for a third tour. And recently, Craig Morgan invited her for an extra tour this year due to her popularity with the troops. — Kellie’s philanthropic efforts are well known in Nashville, where she devotes time and money to numerous causes, including the children’s hospital and an organization that supplies musical instruments to schoolchildren. — Kellie’s served as a spokesperson for the AARP Foundation Grandparenting Program. In my mind, Kellie has earned the right to put those few awkward minutes on “Fifth-Grader” behind her.

The few bashing Kellie are full of crap. First of all she went on the 5th Grader show to rasise $50,000 for charity, which is more than you bashers can ever do to help people. Second, she’s able to do this because unlike Ryan’s BS said, her singing and concerts are the best! In fact she won the CMT Music Awards Performance of the Year award for the best live performance in country music for her amazing performance of I Wonder on the CMA Awards! Love everything she does including speaking between songs and so do the concert reviewers. She drew a record crowd to a concert in Ohio and that was when she was just getting srated a couple of years ago.

Overseer, please do not insult Ohio schools. Most of us posting here are also products of Ohio schools but we are not an idiot like you are. Does it build you up to tear Kellie Pickler down? Your comments are really inappropriate here, take it somewhere else.

Ryan, So if this is so cheesy, what are you doing reading about it? AND going to country concerts? Very opinionated.

I saw Kellie Pickler at country concert last year. She may be a good karoake artist but she is dumber than a rock. She spoke between songs and sounded like a moron. Country artists are as cheesy as extreme homemakeover.

This is just one more of many wonderful things that Kellie has done for others. Anyone who speaks harshly or negatively towards Kellie is one who doesn’t know anything about her. To know Kellie Pickler is to love her.

Watch the Kellie Pickler appearance on “Smarter than a fifth grader” on YouTube. She is an idiot - but probably a nice person. Blame her lack of brains on the Texas Public School System - “Turning out morons and crazies since 1885!”

I’m not much on country music, but that’s limited to the music itself. So many country artists seem genuine and really caring for their fans. Ms. Pickler has really earned my respect for doing all of this.

I think Kellie is a genuine good person. What you see is what you get with her.
