She’s out & a diverse trio of men are left on American Idol

Results show tonight. The conversations were spirited at work today about who would be going home this week. I heard predictions for everyone but Adam and very few Allisons, which is rare these days. Our Idol poll shows most people looking for Kris to leave. DialIdol.com has Allison leaving. I guess we will see soon enough. Honestly, I hope its Danny, but it could be anyone at this point.

Does anyone else wish they would have stuck to the promised ½ hour results show? My guess is that they couldn’t land a decent sitcom to take the other ½ hour but come on already. We just want to know who is staying, say a tearful goodbye to who is going, and be told what next week’s theme is. Am I alone here?

Super sweet news. Believe it or not, I heard today from Brian Mansfield from USA Today’s Idol Chatter today and he passed on something that some of our own bloggers said earlier today. I guess for a couple years or so, most of the wrap-up clips indeed come from the dress rehearsal because it can be too tough to get it all together from the live show. Thanks for clearing that up Brian and thanks for hello!

Ryan talks to the top four as usual but let’s get to that scream! I have to give Danny props because he owned up to the laughable awfulness of that scream. In fact, besides laughing with his family all night, he reported that his own aunt muted the TV during his performance! Then he shared that he heard people were making ringtones of it already and he wouldn’t be surprised to see it in the movies soon. Good job Danny…way to save face.

Paula performs I’m Just Here for the Music. This is the first time she’s performed on the Idol stage. I don’t think she was singing live but I must say, I wasn’t appalled. The dance moves were a little less spectacular than they used to be, but I don’t know many 46-year-olds that could still do the splits and move like that. Do you?

Okay. I’m a No Doubt fan but they don’t have a new album to promote, just a tour, so they do Just a Girl and Gwen Stefani wasn’t at her best. I started surfing the net to be honest and I actually enjoyed Paula’s performance more.

Let me say. I love Chris Daughtry. I love his music. I HATE the crooked side burns. I thought they were gone for good, but they are back. Noooooo, Chris. But you’re awesome anyway. So he debuts the first single No Surprise off the new album due out this summer. This is signature Daughtry, so I’m expecting good things from his next album.

It’s after the break and we find out quickly that Adam is safe. No big surprise. Since it is down to Allison and Danny, I’m guessing Allison will be going home. AND Ryan says Danny…you are safe.

Allison handles herself with maturity and grace, which is no surprise. And as usual, the final performance is the most relaxed and probably one of my favorites of hers all season. As Ryan says, it won’t be long before we are hearing her on the radio.

And then, my DVR switches channels because the show has gone long and by the time I get it back to FOX it’s the news. Beside the fact that next week they all get to go home, did they say what they are doing with the songs? Usually each judge gets to pick. Four judges now, three contestants.

As usual, I can’t wait until next week!!!

Danny is far from Taylor Hicks. Open your ears people and that includes you Hillary, Danny can sing. Adam needs to stick to the theater, because he isn’t a rocker, he is a pretender.

I wasn’t too surprised either. I don’t really understand why she doesn’t have more of a fan base for this - but she will be fine. I think she has a career ahead of her and she still has some growing up to do. I was glad that Danny’s fans stood behind him - one bad performance does not a season make - just like one good one can’t. Adam will probably win, but I don’t like his singing - whatev. It takes all kinds! And yes - these results shows are overblown. We watched Paula, but we changed it to another channel for most of it cos I had no desire to see either of the other acts. I just watched a bit and then clicked. It all just seems so random and stupid. It can be fun to see former idols, is this a competition or a variety show??? And Kelle - I am with on Chris’s sideburns or whatever they are - it looks like someone scribbled on his jawline with a black sharpie! EW. Bring on the home towns!

Wrong, wrong, wrong!!! Allison should not be going home, it should be Go-Gokey! Saying that, kudos to Allison on her departure song - WOW!!! She definitely has a career in front of her without a doubt.

I am guessing its going to be Adam to win it too. I was shocked it wasn’t Kris going home too. Allison is pretty good and she will go far!

If Danny wins this somehow I might have to stop watching. He should have gone home last night and not for the hometown hero thing. Allison did great and should have stayed. But as Ryan said, I’m sure she’ll be making a record soon enough. I am really glad Kris made it through. With any luck Danny will go home next week and the final two would be Adam and Kris. Probably wishful thinking since apparently people are still voting for Danny somehow. Open your ears people! As for the performances: Paula did pretty good for someone her age and the song wasn’t too bad! Daughtry was fantastic and I LOVE No Doubt but Gwen was a little out of breath or something the whole time… it was a little weird for me.

I was sad to see Allison go. I was hoping Kris and his twisty mouth were done. It doesn’t seem to be a contest anymore. Neither Kris nor Danny come close to Adam in talent.

I am not super shocked about last night - and not real sad either. Allison had been in the bottom so much that it was bound to catch up with her - even having a good week. I was of course hoping that Adam would have a Chris Daughtry moment and be sent packing, but that would be too good to be true. I am really glad that Kris and Danny are still in it. Yes, Adam has been the most consistent. Consistency isn’t always a good thing either - like someone said - if he threw in the screams every once in awhile, fine. But, it’s way overdone. Next week, they each sing two song - Judges pick and their personal choice - usually I think something that they’ve already done. I’m guessing that since there is 3 left and 4 judges that they will probably confer on those songs.

By seriously?

Kris should have gone home for sure, but my reasoning is based on the competition as a whole. I think Adam has been the most consistent and best, then Danny, Allison and Kris. Danny has been almost as good and consistent as Adam. Adam has worn out the 80s glam rock high pitched voice too much for me. If he only did it here and there, it would be a lot more tolerable. He is still good though. Danny, probably still my favorite. Someone said he should stick with country music?? Wow, that’s unusual, because he’s been good, if not great, at almost every genre he’s tackled. I guess that’s why we all get an oppinion. I said from the beginning it would be Adam and Danny in the finale, guess I’m right again. Except for the year Fantasia won (still clueless as to how that ever happened), I’ve picked the winner at the beginning of the top 12.

America got it wrong again! I’m sorry to see Allison go, but at the same time feel it’s probably for the best since she has a bright future ahead of her. If Simon is smart he’ll sign her to his lable, but if not, I’m sure someone else will and I’ll definitely buy her CD! I’m still surprised Kris wasn’t sent packing, though I like his quirkiness. It’s not going to be very exciting from here on out since we know Adam will win.

Just about everyone (including me) miss this one. Oh well… Allison just might have a bigger career by not being in the top 3. I’ll miss her voice the next 3 weeks-she’s really good. As for they guys who are left… Adam should win, but obviously people like something about Kris & Danny. Of those two, Danny is the better voice-as long as he goes country. That’s the only thing that will keep him from being another Taylor (Yuck).

It’s sad that a talented young lady left the competition because she is just that..a young lady. She should have been standing next to the obvious winner in the finale..Adam. Unfortunately, and this happens every year, young girls dominate the voting and vote for the cute guys! Come on girls..it’s not all about the looks. Danny absolutely should have left last night or better yet Kris. They didn’t perform good at all on Tuesday. Danny should have been kicked off after that version of Dream On..OMG! He’s another Taylor Hicks if he wins..what will he sing? His voice and style is not marketable. Oh, this show is getting and has always been somewhat of a popularity contest. However, Allison is probably better off..look at Daughtery he has been just as if not more successful than some of the winners. You go GIRL!
