‘Someone’s Gotta Go’ - New Reality TV show about layoffs
If you haven’t heard, the U.S. is in an bit of an economic pickle. So, it was only a matter of time before some reality TV producers figured out a way to capitalize on this economic storm.
“Someone’s Gotta Go” is the result. The show, created by Endemol USA for FOX, is apparently already in production around the U.S.
The reality TV series will follow “struggling small businesses” as they work through the painful decisions of who should be let go. Of course there’s a twist, the employees get to decide who gets the ax.
Variety.com is reporting that the show could be airing on a channel near you in late this summer or early this fall. The Web site is also reporting that Mike Darnell of Fox’s reality TV unit described the show as, “It’s ‘Survivor’ meets ‘The Office.’” Yeah! the office in real life - that’d be fun.
This is the sort of show America needs to give it a shot in the emotional arm… right?
