Three Firebirds commit

Three Lakota West seniors — Blake Bell, Jordan Darland and Cole Stalker — recently made verbal commitments to continue their football careers.

Bell, a 6-foot, 265-pound defensive lineman, chose the University of California Pennsylvania over St. Joseph’s (Ind.), Indianapolis and Ohio Dominican.

Darland, a 6-1, 225-pound linebacker, chose Olivet Nazarene in Bourbonnais, Ill. over Malone, Georgetown College and Duquense.

Stalker, a 6-2, 205-pound linebacker, chose the University of Findlay over St. Joseph’s (Ind.), Robert Morris, Georgetown College and Lyndsey Wilson College.

Fellow senior Dawson Fletcher committed to Indiana last year.

West will hold a signing ceremony at 7 a.m. Wednesday and all four players also will be present at the GMC signing event Wednesday afternoon.
