Illinois offers Lakota West’s Kelly

Lakota West High junior center Ryan Kelly has received an offer from the University of Illinois.

It is the sixth offer for Kelly (6-4, 275), who also has offers from Cincinnati, Louisville, Indiana, Boston College and Syracuse.

Kelly also plans to visit the University of Alabama on Monday, April 5.

Bailie to coach in North-South game

Former Lakota East High football coach Greg Bailie will coach in the annual Ohio North-South All-Star Classic on Friday night, April 23, at Ohio Stadium.

Bailie, who is on the South staff, will coach the defensive linemen. Bailie, 57, resigned as East’s football coach in November after coaching at Lakota since 1993.

Lakota West offensive lineman Kevin Schloemer and Fairfield safety Arryn Chenault — both Cincinnati signees — are on the South roster.
