Madison’s Malott an All-Ohio selection
Madison High School junior Ally Malott has been selected to the Division III All-Ohio first team for the second year in a row.
Malott and her Mohawk teammates will play in the state semifinals against Ironton at 1 p.m. on Thursday.
Teammate Lindsay Hoskins, a senior who has committed to play Division I college basketball at Lehigh University, received special mention honors.
Also recognized in D-III was Badin’s Courtney Hubbard, who was chosen for special mention.
In D-IV, Cincinnati Christian’s Sarah Carroll was a special mention player and New Miami’s Kim Gault received honorable mention.

Mason’s Larcomb to run at NKU
Mason High senior Matt Larcomb will run collegiately at Northern Kentucky University.
Larcomb, a three-time state qualifier in cross country with the Comets, signed last month to continue his cross country career at NKU.
Larcomb plans to major in criminology.

Fairfield football to hold recruiting seminar
Fairfield’s football program will conduct a recruiting seminar for Fairfield players in all grades from 10-11:30 a.m. on Saturday, April 10, in the Fairfield High School auditorium.
Topics discussed during the session will be: NCAA rules; NCAA Clearinghouse (eligibility center); recruiting and scholarship timeline; how to talk to college coaches; the importance of your GPA; the sliding scale; and recruiting for D-I, D-II, D-III and NAIA.
The guest speaker is Tom Elias.

Lakota West, Middletown to play on Fox Sports Ohio
Lakota West and Middletown didn’t face each other during the 2009 football season.
The two teams, though, are scheduled to get together this upcoming season, and they’ll do so on Fox Sports Ohio.
It was announced today, March 16, that the Middies will visit the Firebirds at 7:05 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 16, at Firebird Field.
The game was originally scheduled to be played on Friday, Sept. 17.
This past season, West finished 9-2 overall and 7-0 in the GMC, winning its first league title in school history. Middletown was 10-2, 6-1 GMC.

Fairfield’s Vann picks up another offer
Fairfield junior LB Marquise Vann has been offered by Ohio University, according to Tribe coach Aaron Fitzstephens.
That now makes a total of six offers for the 6-foot-1, 220-pounder.
Vann also has offers from Toledo, Ball State, Bowling Green, Michigan State and Illinois State. He was a first-team, all-GMC pick this past season.
Vann and junior DE Robert Mincey have attended Junior Days at Bowling Green and Toledo. They have no other visits lined up at this point.
Mincey (6-4, 240) has offers Toledo, Ball State, Bowling Green, Ohio and Kent State.
