Report: UC no longer in Smith’s plans
As we reported earlier today on our twitter account (twitter.com/pulsesports), Lakota West senior TE Alex Smith will not announce his college decision today, as he previously was expected to.
West coach Larry Cox said on Monday that Smith’s choices were down to Cincinnati, North Carolina and Wisconsin.
There is a report on ESPN.com that Smith and UC have parted ways. Smith verbally committed to UC back on Feb. 21.
(Update, 2:30 p.m.) Cox confirmed the report on ESPN.com.
“I think Alex is solid in what he’s doing,” Cox said. “He wanted to make a couple more contacts with coaches in recruiting. He’s trying to make an effort and do it the right way.”
