Watkins commits to Bowling Green
Middletown High School quarterback Caleb Watkins has verbally committed to Bowling Green State University, according to Middies coach Jason Krause.
Watkins had received offers from several other Mid-American Conference schools, such as Ohio University, Kent State, Northern Illinois, Ball State and most recently Central Michigan, but it was BG that felt right.
“He has an opportunity to play early and it is close to home, which I know are important to Caleb,” Krause said.
Watkins has been the Greater Miami Conference’s leading passer in each of the past two seasons. He threw for 2,045 yards and 26 touchdowns as a sophomore, and 2,089 yards and 22 TD’s as a junior.
