Bus driver sentenced to 10 to 25 years for assault on Witt student
A Columbus man was sentenced to 10 to 25 years in a West Virginia prison, having pleaded guilty to second-degree assault in connection with an April sexual assault of a Wittenberg student.
According to the Intelligencer, Wheeling News-Register, Leonard Braynen Jr. 34, a Bahamian national, could be deported after he serves his prison time.
Braynen was employed by the Columbus-based Urban Express Bus Company and transported the students Friday, April 3, to Oglebay Resort in Wheeling, W.Va.
About 55 students were attending the fraternity-sponsored weekend trip, Wittenberg officials had said.
According to court documents, the student involved told law enforcement officials she had consumed alcohol on the way to the resort and had passed out on the floor in a bedroom of the lodge, where the other students were having a party. She said she awoke later to find a man sexually assaulting her.
Several witnesses told police they saw Braynen leave the darkened bedroom and rejoin the party. Friends of the young woman immediately went in to check on her and found her crying and saying she had been raped.

“could be deported after he serves his prison time.” Deport him now and save the taxpayers money. I cannot believe that we will be paying for this low life to spend this amount of time in prision then deport him after.

Dagwood, Why should should this guy have his freedom by being deported? We deport people everyday who aren’t criminals. This guy needs to serve his time for the serious crime he committed here in US.

But see Jim, the thing is, it’s such a waste to support this man for what he did to that student. He needs to be deported & LOSE his freedom. He is no longer a leech on society. You can pay for his three meals a day, bed, and internet access as well as cable. :]

They have deported criminals before instead of putting them in prison and they end up coming right back to the U.S. I say execute him!

we still have that law that states you must be proven guilty of a crime before you can be punished, so please let the courts handle this case and not us.

I hope this lady recovers from this. Deportation is the least that should happen to this creep. While no one has a right to do this to anyone it is still another example of a young woman consuming too much alcohol and putting herself in a position to give these creeps an opportunity to take advantage of her. Women needs to be aware of their surroundings at all times so that the chances of these crimes committed against them are minimized.

This needs to be investigated. First, drunk college (OMG) girl. Second black guy who she would not be caught dead with cause mommy and daddy would disapprove. Third what was said on the ride over? We all know the rep of college girls. White college girls especially.If he did it great but lets suppose she was inviting to an encounter, and when the booze wore off she found the only way to save face. OMG I was raped HMMMMMMMMM
