Sinclair appoints new dean of Liberal Arts
Sinclair Community College recently appointed Kathleen Cleary as the dean of Liberal Arts, Communication and Social Sciences.
Cleary started her new post at the end of 2008. She had served as Sinclair’s chairperson of theatre and dance since the fall of 2003.
Cleary also has taught at the Ohio State University, Clark State Community College and Binghampton University. She has been active as an actor and director in professional, college and community theaters in Ohio and New York.
While at Sinclair, Cleary has directed “Ama and the White Crane,” “Cymbaline,” “Richard III” and “The Christmas Carol.” She appeared in the short film, “Still Me,” which won the audience award for best short at the 2008 Big Bear Film Festival in California.
Cleary received her doctorate in theater history from Ohio State, her master’ degree in theater from the State University of New York at Binghampton, and her bachelor’s in English from Fransican University.
