Poll: Obama weak in Ohio but stronger than GOP rivals
President Barack Obama’s approval rating with Ohio voters is below 50 percent but the Democratic president still appears to be in decent shape to carry the state in 2012 against potential GOP candidates, according to a Public Policy Polling survey released Tuesday.
The survey from the Democratic polling company, based in Raleigh, N.C., found that 46 percent of Ohio voters approved the president’s performance while 49 percent disapproved. That’s down from March when 47 percent approved and 46 percent disapproved.
However, in matchups against potential GOP candidates, Obama prevailed. The closest race was with former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney, with Obama leading, 46-42 percent.
Obama led former House Speaker Newt Gingrich, 49-40 percent and Sarah Palin, the 2008 GOP candidate for vice president, 50-40 percent.
The poll also matched Obama against Ohio’s first-term Republican U.S. senator, Rob Portman, with Obama ahead, 48-38 percent.
“These Ohio numbers epitomize Barack Obama’s status right now - he’s not terribly popular but the Republican field is even more unpopular and because of that he’d be in a solid shape for reelection if we have to vote today,” Dean Debnam, PPP president, said in a press release.
“If a GOP candidate really captures the attention of the voters, Obama will be in trouble but that is far from inevitable.”
Release of the survey follows a Quinnpiac University poll released last month that found among registered voters, 49 percent approved Obama’s performance, while 45 percent disapproved.
The PPP survey was taken from Thursday, May 19 to Sunday, May 22 with 565 voters and had a margin of error of plus or minus 4.1 percent. The survey was conducted through automated telephone interviews.

Whome, the Republicans are working on jobs. The Democrats have tried to spend their way out of a recession and it not only didn’t work, but unemployment shot up. That means you need to try something else, but they aren’t. They won’t even try to cut spending. Ryan came up with a plan, where’s yours? All of the government spending and taxing is taking money away from the consumers. We can’t even afford to fill up our gas tanks now. Obama’s policies have failed. Temporary government jobs are gone, and the stimulus money spent is gone without even leaving a thumbprint. It didn’t work. Raising taxes will further stiffle businesses and jobs. Although both Republicans and Democrats have been irresponsible in the past with spending, I think it is the Republican party that is stepping up to the plate to get our country back on track. We need to stop throwing our good money away to bad, like giving Billions of U.S. Dollars to foreign countries who hate us. It’s time to stop funding the “Arab Spring” which is nothing more than a concentrated planned takeover by Radical Islams with the help of George Soros’ money and organizations like Code Pink and funding by Unions members’ dues. Obama’s plans for Israel may be what does him in to doom his ability to get another term in office. Of course high unemployment and inflated dollar aren’t going to help him, neither, nor the high gas prices at the pump and lack of drilling here in the states.

If you don’t want to see what’s happening with Obama sending billions of dollars at a time out of our country, you won’t see it. I don’t care what label you put on it. It’s Anti-American when millions of Americans can’t find jobs and our own president is helping other countries to drill there, sending jobs to China (Manufacturing jobs paid for by American Tax Dollars) and Mexico (auto plant paid for by American Tax Dollars). Obama thinks America stole resources from poorer countries, and this is his way of “fixing” things. He is a radical left wing idealist who is punishing America. He’s already traveled around the world on taxpayer money APOLOGIZING for America and BOWING to our enemies. Now he’s trying to get Israel annilated, and don’t you think for one second Israel doesn’t trust America right now with Obama as president. Whoever gets the GOP nomination will cream Obama in the next election. Obama barely got a bump of approval from killing Osama. The economic problems won’t go away because of Obama’s crazy politics. You want to know who hates America, lol? It’s the unions who are trying to bring down Chase Bank and manipulate our stock markets, it’s George Soros who is funding Code Pink who is workign with the unions to bring the chaos around the world (DAYS OF RAGE) and in our schools. It is President Obama who is killing our economy by raising oil prices with his moratorium on oil drilling and lack of permits (CASS SUSTEIN, WE’RE LOOKING AT YOU!). It’s all the jobs that were smashed with Obama’s energy policies! When people have had enough, they will vote for change. Just watch and see.

@null, I can’t think of anyone who has come close. Politicians have been running on platforms that they’ll change Social Security and get us better healthcare only to do nothing once they’re firmly ensconced behind their big ol’ executive desk. I truly wish that we did not have for-profit healthcare and big money lobbyists running rampant in D.C. It’s hard to make changes when the current system is working so great for the well-connected movers and shakers. I think it’s disturbing how much opposition the President has faced from the GOP, who are so bold that they have come right out and said that they want him to fail, and they have tried their darndest. Never mind that they have left tire tracks on the backs of the very people they are supposed to be working for—-US! The average man and woman who are trying as best they can to provide for their families. It makes me ill. Why are they NOT working on JOBS for us instead of using the deficit as a vehicle to drive home the idea that the reason we have no money is because our teachers, policemen and firefighter etc., are too greedy? Never mind that we financed the Iraq War by keeping it off the Budget!!! Then we have outsiders like Rupert Murdoch poisoning the minds and hearts of many of our friends and families in the guise of FOX News. They want us to be so busy fighting amongst ourselves that we won’t see them decimating our lives to the point of poverty. Then when the next crisis happens, we’ll be pointing fingers at each other instead of trying to fix the problems…Over and over, the cycle repeats, yet we never seem to learn… I wonder if the collective mood was as depressing and contentious during the build-up of the Civil War as it is now? My guess is yes. I know that there are ‘misguided’ politicians in both parties, and power corrupts, but we need to come together and fight the REAL problem, which is Corporatism, and it’s motivating factor, GREED!

In colonial times, the smaller/poorer countries were colonies. You can’t say that Obama is anti-colonial if he supports a bunch of former colonies.. Saying that “Obama is sending billions of dollars out of our country to Brazil” makes no sense because Brazil is a former colony of Portugal. There is no logic behind calling Obama anti-colonial. America is a former colony of England. If you support a larger/richer country colonizing a smaller/poorer country, then you have exposed yourself as anti-American. I bet Squirrellygirl would have rooted for the British in the 1700s. I pray for people like her. They hate America, but they don’t realize it.

Hi Aaron, but can Ron Paul get elected? I don’t think so. He’s run for president before, and he didn’t do very well. Seriously, anybody would do a better job than Obama. Do you have any other suggestions for Republican contender other than Ron Paul? We seriously need to get off this current path to socialism, and we need someone who can win against the narcissistic president Obama.

@SQG, What lie did I say? In MY opinion, I believe that you have posted in the past under the name “Connie”. “Perspective” also posts extremely similar comments as yourself as well. Your words against mine, I guess. I see that “Perspective” has refuted being you, something I don’t recall seeing before, so I am taking that one back. Regardless, I find your comments to be narrow-minded as well as biased. I give up trying to have any exchange of ideas with you. How about ignoring each other from now on? I will no longer post anything TO you, or ABOUT you. I am not “retreating” OR running away, but I have reached the conclusion that further attempts to have a civil conversation would be futile for both of us. I also apologize for things I have said that are offensive, because I know that I am NOT perfect in any way. Have a great life, if you want to. Good-bye.

Squirrellygirl, first, I know that Obama has major Wall Street ties. I am a Ron Paul supporter, not a Obama supporter. I am just pointing out that Herman Cain is hiding a past that people don’t realize. He does not want to audit the Federal Reserve and was in favor for TARP. This is the same thing as Obama. Ron Paul is the polar opposite of Obama thank God and a lot better than Daffy Duck!

D’SOUZA: Well, it’s my world. See, the thing is I’m an immigrant to America. I grew up in India. And as a young boy anticolonialism was in the air. My father, my grandfather, this was India became independent from the British in 1947. So this idea, the anticolonialist philosophy, which is the philosophy that the greedy, rapacious West is ripping off the poor countries, the idea that America is a rogue elephant in the world stampeding across the planet, consuming resources out of its share. GLENN: Okay, hang on. Before you go on, when I read this in the article, I immediately looked at Pat and I said, this will connect with people if you say the Story of Stuff. The left, have you seen the Story of Stuff? The left has done the Story of Stuff and we went over that like 18 months ago. That America is consuming all of the world’s resources, that America has stolen things from other countries. So this is not a first of all, will you deny the Birther thing? D’SOUZA: Absolutely. GLENN: Okay. D’SOUZA: The Birther thing is a diversion. See, Barack Obama was born August 4th, 1961, and he was born in Hawaii. And the reason we know this, the single best piece of evidence is that there were notices of his birth in two local newspapers. GLENN: So you have to be PAT: All part of the plan. GLENN: Right. PAT: It was all part of conspiracy. GLENN: You have to go to a Manchurian Candidate. PAT: You really do. GLENN: At birth. PAT: It’s so ridiculous. D’SOUZA: But I think what’s so significant is that Robert Gibbs, the White House press secretary, when Newt Gingrich praised my article and praised my argument and said it was the most insightful look at Obama that he had ever seen, Gibbs, the press secretary goes, well, they are just raising the issue of where Obama was born. So this poor guy GLENN: No. D’SOUZA: He had evidently not read the article, I know he hasn’t read the book. I actually want to send him a signed copy, one for him and one for Obama. GLENN: I’m not sure he can read, so D’SOUZA: I don’t know about that. GLENN: I’ve listened to his answers, so I’m not sure he can read. But let me just go back here. This has nothing to do with Birthers or anything else. This doesn’t have anything to do with race and that’s why I said my comment, what, a year and a half ago was infantile on its understanding of Obama because that’s your gut that says, wait a minute, it’s about race. No, it’s not. It’s not about race. It is about colonialism, which is still the message of the left, that America is stealing the resources of the rest of the world. D’SOUZA: Yeah, the problem with the race theory and the problem with so many theories about Obama is we all look at Obama and we try to in a sense project American history onto him. GLENN: Yes. D’SOUZA: This is done on the right, it’s done on the left, but we’re ignoring Obama’s own history. So what’s interesting is all these people yell and scream, Maureen Dowd in today’s New York Times yelling and screaming implying that this is some sort of race argument and saying, where does Dinesh get all this crazy stuff. And the answer is, I’m getting it from Obama. An interesting way to get at this is to ask what is Obama’s dream. Is it the American dream? Is it Martin Luther King’s dream? And the beauty is we don’t have to guess. Obama tells us himself in his book. You pick it up: Dreams From My Father. GLENN: Hang on just a second. Dreams From My Father. Not Dreams Of My Father. Dreams From My Father. D’SOUZA: Which these GLENN: Critical. D’SOUZA: Right. I’m not writing about my father’s dreams. I’m writing about the dream I got from my father. And who was Barack Obama, Sr.? Once we look at this and once we look a little more closely at him and some of the things he’s written, by the way, which are not well known, he wrote an interesting article in the East Africa Journal in 1965 about African socialism. He lays out a bunch of themes. He talks, for example, about what’s the ideal rate of taxation, what is the highest permissible rate of taxation. GLENN: You’ll love this, America. D’SOUZA: And he comes to an interesting conclusion: 100%. Now, 100% taxation. Now, you might say this is crazy, what rational person. But look at the anticolonialist premise. The anticolonialist premise is that the rich guys got rich by ripping off the poor. So Glenn, if I got rich by coming to your house and stealing your furniture, what tax rate should be put on me? It’s not my stuff. I’ve taken it from you unjustly. GLENN: Right. D’SOUZA: So no limit to, you can come and get it all back. GLENN: Right. Now listen, if you, if you want to look at Barack Obama and make sense of his policies, you cannot. For instance, last week the federal government okayed a billion dollar loan to Mexico to drill for oil in the Gulf where we have where we’ve stopped drilling. Why are we loaning them a billion dollars to drill where we can’t? Deep sea, I told you this about five months ago. We’ve made a gigantic loan to Brazil so they can go and do deep sea drilling off the coast of Brazil. What was it, twice as deep as what we had a problem with? And we shut down all of our oil rigs? Now, why would we take our money and give it to Brazil and give it to Mexico to do the things that we are telling that a president is telling us is too dangerous for the environment to do? D’SOUZA: This is absolutely critical and in fact I think even Obama’s own supporters are misunderstanding him. They think he’s a conventional liberal. They think he a he like Al Gore: He thinks the planet is too hot, he thinks that energy consumption for the world is too high, he wants to decrease it across the board. But then we see no, he doesn’t. He wants to decrease energy consumption by us while increasing energy availability and consumption by them. In other words, he wants to decrease the wealth of the colonizers, the rich West, and increase the availability of wealth and energy. That’s why he proposes huge global transfers of wealth from the wealthy west to the rest. So this anticolonial key opens the lock. We have a lot of other arguments and they’re like hammers. They bang around at Obama, they try to fit him into some theory and then there is the rage. The reason I call the book The The Roots of Obama’s Rage is that this isn’t ideology, this isn’t something he picked up in college, flirted with as sort of a quasi Marxist. This is rooted in his own deep personal history. He’s a little bit like the guy in the Schwarzenegger movie who comes home and his whole family has been massacred and he becomes a man on a mission. He’s got to go back, he’s got to settle scores, he’s got GLENN: See, I have to D’SOUZA: This is Barack Obama. GLENN: I have to tell you this is the point that we made when we stumbled on grandpa being kept in a British prison camp and then grandma telling Barack this is the story and anticolonial so you see, wait a minute, grandma grandpa was put into a camp for a while because of the British. You see that Dad left his son for this cause, then mom left his her son for this cause. His whole family has sacrificed for generations now for this cause, and somehow or another the media wants you to think that that’s irrelevant. I am Abraham Lincoln said everything I am, I owe to my mother. I just told my father this weekend: Almost everything I am I owe to my father. We are a product of what we came from, good or bad. D’SOUZA: Not only is that true in general but it is especially true of Obama. His publishers gave him a big advance and said go write a book about your life. He wrote a book about his father’s life. He took his father’s name. So in a sense he says himself and everybody who knows him says this. His granny, Sarah Obama, not his real granny, she’s the white she’s one of the other wives of his grandfather, Onyango Obama. But she says, I look at him and I see all the same things: The vision of the father is realized in the son. So the people who know Obama see this uncanny resemblance. I’m saving stuff in the book. I don’t want to talk about the grandfather because the story is so fascinating. In effect Obama ends up rejecting his grandfather. In his own book he calls him a house (expletive). He rejects his grandfather and he puts all his hopes in his father. It’s a very interesting question why. His grandfather suffered more than his more than. GLENN: Could I D’SOUZA: By it’s a fascinating psychological narrative that connects to his policies. That’s what’s so eye opening about it. GLENN: Could I ask you a favor? I know you were quoting the president but please don’t use that word on this program. D’SOUZA: No, no. I mean I was just sorry. But I was just quoting. GLENN: No, you are quoting him, I know that but please don’t use it. All right. We’re going to continue here in just a second, and I want to go back to his taking his father’s name because again it goes back to something that I said on this program and I got heat for and I said, this just, when you change your name, when you do that, it says something. And it’s important that people understand, especially from a guy named D’SOUZA: Named Barry. GLENN: Named Barry going into Barack and a guy named Dinesh D’Souza, not changing his name. He could be he could be something, you know. He could be, you know, Bob Smith like people used to. There is something to be said for changing names and not changing names. And I want to get into that here in a second. http://www.glennbeck.com/content/articles/article/196/45475/

http://www.ehow.com/info8125542differences-between-marxism-socialism-communism.html The differences between Marxism, Socialism, and Communism: Marxism Marxism encompasses many political theories advocated by both Karl Marx and Frederick Engels. The starting point of Marxism is that economics are the driving force of history. Because of this the working class is, inevitably, exploited by the capitalist class who make money from the labor of the poor. Marx and Engels believed that eventually the working class would rise up, fight for their freedom and create a new political system. Socialism In Marxist theory, socialism is a temporary political system between the workers’ revolution and communism. Today socialism is seen as a system separate from communism. In socialism the means of production—factories, hospitals and banks for example—are owned by the state. Like in capitalism, workers are paid for the work they perform. However, unlike capitalism, workers are also provided with all the resources they need such as healthcare, transportation and an education. Communism Communism is the final stage in Marxism and results in the end of social classes. The main difference between socialism and communism is that everyone will receive payment for their labor based on their needs rather than the work they perform. Communism also requires the end of private property which creates undue competition between workers. Marx and Engels believed that communism had to be implemented gradually around the world to be successful. Modern Interpretations Communism and socialism have had different outcomes throughout the world. Communism was not successful in many European countries, such as Germany, and resulted in high poverty and human rights violations. Communism is often viewed negatively, though communist countries such as China and Cuba still exist. Socialism has been more accepted and many countries, such as England, have successful socialist parties. Neither modern day socialism or communism encompass all the principles spelled out in original Marxist theories. I’m not convinced that England’s socialism has been successful. Look at how their economy is exploding and all of the riots and attacks on the royal family!

I guess you are too lazy to do an internet search for yourself. Anti-colonial? Adj. Of, relating to, possessing, or inhabiting a colony or colonies; Colonial means inhabiting colonial countries. So anti-colonial would be against that, anti-. Basically, Obama’s stance on America is that America needs to apologize to the world for stealing resources from poorer countries. That’s why Obama is sending billions of dollars out of our country to Brazil for drilling there so we can “purchase” oil from them! …and manufacturing jobs to China instead of here in the states, and an auto company to Mexico instead of here in the states where Americans can’t find jobs. Obama shut down our oil drilling which makes us even more dependent on foreign oil. His moratorium destroyed jobs in America. You see, Obama’s American dream envisions unemployed Americans who don’t need to drive their cars to work, thus reducing America’s “need” for gas/oil. His vision entails Americans so poor that they are forced to eventually give up their land (if they own any) to the government, who will “distribute” resources to whom they deem they align with politically. Famine is also used by communists in the past to get rid of people who they deem economically infeasible. They ration healthcare to those who they believe will be able to contribute to society, so babies and the elderly don’t fare well under communism. He forces redistribution of America’s wealth out of our country because he believes America is evil and owes everybody our wealth. That’s why Obama hates Brittain, because they colonize other countries. He sent the gift Brittain sent us back to them. He has alienated all of our allies. He dissed Israel, and he knifed Israel in the back when he declared that they should give up the land they fought for back in ‘67. Although this had been “discussed” it had never been officially announced and Obama made it so that Israel can’t use it as a bargaining chip. Also you can’t bargain with countries that outwardly say they want to kill every Jew. Israel is surrounded by Islamic countries that want to destroy them. This land is used by Israel to defend their country, and without it they won’t be able to fend off their enemies. The Palestinians don’t acknowledge Israel, and they have ties to radical Islams that want to annilate Israel. They have nothing but hatred talk about Israel, and threaten Israel all the time. Israel will not give up that land. Obama is trying to force Israel’s hand, but Israel won’t budge. Obama is a goof when it comes to foreign affairs. We’ve never had a worse president than Obama. Although Obama has tried to present himself as a centrist, he is really a radical left wing idealist, anti-colonial, and seeks destroy the American way of life.

On 6/24/02, President GW Bush gave his famous “Roadmap” speech in the Rose Garden, outlining his plan for peace through the two state solution. In a 4/4/04 statement, he reiterated that the two state solution is the “key to peace.” On 5/26/05, Bush reasserted US commitment to the two state solution. On 6/21/06, the US and the EU summit issued a joint declaration supporting the two state solution. Bush made statements on 9/20/06, 7/16/07, and 8/28/07 expressing commitment to the two state solution. In a 10/17/07 letter, he wrote of his Administration’s “active engagement in pursuit of the two state solution.” George W. Bush continued to make statements throughout his Presidency in support of the two state solution. The last public statement he made as President in support of the two state solution was on 1/12/09. Do you hate how Bush changed US policy toward our allet Israel?

They can’t defend sending billions of our dollars outside our country for jobs there, like billions to Brazil so we can “buy” their oil. Also, Obama has not been obeying our laws. He swore he would, but he’s manipulating them to fit his anti-colonial socialist agenda. He added 4 trillion to our deficit. Our economy is tanking. The dollar isn’t worth much now because he allowed the FED to print money and monetize his debt. He won’t allow drilling here although he “talks” like he is, but he isn’t. Energy prices are skyrocketing. Obama won’t budge on his hc bill, and he won’t come up with a budget that cuts the deficit. Obama’s foreign policies leave us now with no allies, and Obama set our (use to be ally) Israel to be attacked by UN’s R2P (Responsibility to Protect) which is what Obama used to bomb Libya (w/o the req’d Congressional approval I might add—not even Bush ever waged a war w/o Congressional approval). We are now involved in 3 wars. The only thing this president has done is kill Obama, but he had to go into Pakistan (a nation that has nukes) to do it, and he did it w/o Pakistan’s knowledge or permission. Obama avoids this nation’s problems by diverting our attention onto other things. I don’t see how this man could win the presidency again, but then I never voted for him the first time. Somehow Obama has managed (with George Soros’ help) to buy off the media so they won’t report his thugeries. I will vote for Pee Wee Herman for president, anybody would do a better job than Obama. Anybody.

My isn’t Joanie so arrogant? She knows everything! BTW Joanie, did you know this country is not a Democracy but a Republic? Didn’t think so. The problem with Obama’s two state solution is he wants Israel to pull back to 1967 borders which are indefensible. I’ll bet the peace process would go quicker if the the palestinians would quit lobbing rockets into civilian areas of Israel. Oh but you can overlook their random murder of innocent people. Also just because someone participates in social programs does not mean they are socialists. So come down off your “I know it all and you know nothing” high horse.

First of all Squirrelly, you don’t know what socialism is. It is a political or social system. You live it, whether you beleive or not. And yes, I do back Obama’s policies on Israel. Another thing you don’t understand is foreign policy. Obama endorsed the “Two State Solution.” As President, the Constitution charges him with the duty to set foreign policy. The Two State Solution means the creation, again, of Palestine, so there would be two states, Israel and Palestine. Obama did not invent this. This has been US foreign policy for about twenty years, under GW Bush and Clinton. I supported both of them in this policy too. It is also the foreign policy of most of the rest of the world. Yes, there is a difference between capitalism and socialism, but you have no idea what it is.

So…Obama is traveling around the world again. Hmmm. Things at home aren’t going very well, so Obama needs another vacation so he can apologize for America’s colonialism! Perhaps he can find yet another country to funnel out more billions of U.S. dollars to. Obama says our southern borders are safe now. Do you believe him? So terrorists can’t come across our southern borders any longer, right? And there are mass graves, and people’s heads aren’t being cut off, and everything is hunkydorry? Are we still exporting our corn and using it for ethanol when we know we might be facing a famine due to Obama’s policies and the floods that have destroyed so many of our crops?

First of all Joanie, you don’t know me so you can’t tell me what I believe. I have been very explicit about how anti-American Obama’s policies have been, being extremely socialism and changing our capitalism economy by manipulating our laws. Joanie, are you okay with Obama’s policies? Do you back Obama’s putting Israel in a worse position than they already were? You okay with his manipulation of which businesses get bailed out while allowing others to fail, all the while benefitting in his own personal finances from it? Obama is nothing but a chicago thug who has Soros to pay the mainstream media off to only report on his positives, nothing on his questionable past including all of his “advisors” which includes thugs, black panthers, radical left wingers, bombers of police departments, and people who planned decades ago to eliminate 25 million Americans who refuse to be “reeducated” to socialism. There is a difference in capitalism and socialism. There’s also a difference in Christianity and professing to be a Christian while you plan and participate in Israel’s annilation by the Radical Islams!

Yes Squirrelly, Obama is a socialist and so am I and so are you. I sent my children to public schools, my son served in the Federally funded Air Force, I plan to have Medicare, my son and his wife have a home mortgage through the VA, I have police and fire protection and I pay taxes to support government programs. Even if you don’t pay taxes, you still get the benefit of socialism if you are government inspected food, drink public provided water, and on and on. Socialism doesn’t mean lack of capitalism. Ask Bill O’Reilly.

Once again a meaningless poll. Who in their right mind thinks that a poll of only 565 voters (It’s getting worse, last one was 1369 voters) is truly representative of the 11 million people in Ohio?

Obama’s ties to Shorebank in Chicago: The Illinois financial institution had close ties with President Obama’s Administration and alleges that this relationship helped to push a private bailout to save Shorebank from bankruptcy. The Truth: The Shorebank in Chicago, Illinois was financially troubled during the recession, received a Troubled Assets Relief Program (TARP) bailout and there is now an investigation for possible political pressure “applied to force several major Wall Street firms to bail out the bank before it was liquidated by banking regulators,” according to an August 4, 2010 Fox Business News article. The article also said that Neil Barofsky, the Special Inspector General for TARP, had “agreed to earmark $75 million to help ShoreBank survive, has now bowed to pressure from Congressional Republicans and has agreed to investigate charges that key officials in the Obama White House, as well as FDIC chief Sheila Bair, pressured Wall Street firms to donate money to keep ShoreBank alive.” News of this originally broke in a Fox Business News exclusive back in May 19, 2010. Barack Obama did serve as a board member of an advocacy organization for gun control and environmental issues known as the Joyce Foundation, according to a 2008 political profile posted on the Washington Post web site. On May 21, 2010, Fox News commentator Glenn Beck did a report on the political ties between Shorebank and the Obama administration. In an August 6, 2010 article in the Chicago Sun-Times that said Shorebank, known for its history of supporting low-income borrowers, has “failed to secure a $75 million federal bailout as a follow-up to $145 million it raised in May from Wall Street’s biggest players.”

BTW, PPP is a left leaning poll, and can’t be trusted to be unbiased. With outrageous gas prices, Obama’s regulatory czar sitting on oil drilling permits, our horrible economy, the inflated dollar, food prices and energy prices skyrockets, and Obama’s anti-American stands on illegal immigration and waging war without Congress’ approval, I bet Daffy would win over Obama for President in 2012… Oh yea, ask Obama what year it is…(SNARK!)

Obama is a socialist with an anti-colonial agenda. Anyone would do a better job than him. Herman Cain is a fine candidate for president. He wants to know all of the facts before he gives his viewpoint on certain subjects. He has a well thought out plan for fixing our economy. Goofoff Obama is too busy traveling the world on the American taxpayers’ dime. And has Obama even mentioned Japan since they were leveled by a 9.0 quake followed by Tsunami? Obama is a narcissist. I’ll vote for Daffy Duck, too, if Daffy is the only candidate running against Obama. Obama should be tried for treason for his stand on illegal immigration and on not getting Congress’ approval for the Lybian war. Time for America to heal. Vote in anybody except for Obama for President of the United States of America.

Aaron - I’m with you. There’s a reason the media is keeping RP out of these polls - they’re either too ignorant of anything outside of the “mainstream” or they don’t want to face the truth that he would demolish Obama in 2012. RON PAUL 2012 - we’ve got a lot of work to do….

Philman, Check out Herman Cain’s past a little more and you will find that he served on the board of the Federal Reserve in Kansas City. He is more connected to Wall Street than he wants everyone to know. Please check out Ron Paul. He has an extremely consistant voting record, doesn’t participate in the cadillac government benefits, and returns a large portion of his office budget to the government every year.

Let’s face the facts. John Kasich has created so much resentment that it is a given Obama will carry the state. I have voted Republican since 1980 but no more. I have had it with these hypocritical Republican pirates and their war on the middle class.

How did this polling company decide who was the best competitors to Obama? I don’t even see Ron Paul, Tim Pawlenty, Rick Santorum, etc.. I trust the CNN poll that covered the same subject more than said Ron Paul had the best chance against Obama. Those who want freedom and liberty back, those who want to get rid of the welfare/warfare state, those who believe in personal responsibility, please check out Ron Paul.

Without some basic knowledge of history and economics, there will continue to be way too many liberals! An economy will be cyclical, however, the last time our economy has been this bad for this long was under Carter; before that, FDR. Seeing a pattern? Even if you blame Bush for the downturn (there was a demo House), it’s the current anti-business policies which will not release the economy.

TJ - if you consider housing prices falling by 20-30% in Dayton, super high food and gas prices, 9.8% unemployment, $3 Trillion in new debt (in just 2 years), a new Health care law that is making prices go up along with taxes, and a war in Libya which was not approved by congress an improvement than go ahead and vote for Obama again. I will not be paying for the debt in 20 years when the bonds become due the young people of today will be.
