Husted starts TV ads
State Sen. Jon Husted, R-Kettering, started running TV commercials in an effort to beat former Ashtabula County auditor Sandra O’Brien in the GOP primary for secretary of state on May 4.
Although O’Brien has been attacking Husted as a tax hiker and touting herself as the conservative in the race, Husted’s ad tries to position him as a fiscal and social conservative.
The 30-second spot opens with a waving “Don’t Tread on Me” flag as the narrator says “The founding of liberty begins with leaders who fight for our families. Jon Husted, a conservative leader.”
The ad portrays Husted as a conservative who is a family man opposed to “immoral government debt to protect our children’s liberty” and someone who fought to protect public prayer in the Statehouse “because our rights are God given.”
In 2006, O’Brien pulled off a stunning upset when she beat incumbent Republican state treasurer Jennette Bradley in the GOP primary. Husted is trying to make sure O’Brien doesn’t repeat.

Gary H., please don’t vote for anyone. If your decision to vote for someone is based soley on what any other politician in that office should or would have done, then your thoughtless vote does society more harm than good. You’re voting for a Tea Bagger kiss-up just because he happened to help you through the equivilant of a confusing phone prompt SO YOU CAN GET YOUR TAXPAYER PROVIDED GOVERNMENT PAID BENEFITS?! Really?

I gladly endorse John for State office. This past summer when Job and Famiy Service were changing my food stamps and couldn’t give reasonable answers. I contacted Husted he was able to resolve the problem. I’m crossing over party lines to vote for him I sugget others do the same~!
