Issue 2 backers plan “Tractor to Table” rally

Backers of Issue 2 on the Nov. 3 ballot are planning a “Tractor to Table” rally for Wednesday, Oct. 14.

Passage of the issue would require the state to create the Livestock Care Standards Board to prescribe standards for animal care and well-being. The goals are to maintain food safety, encourage locally grown and raised food, and protect Ohio farms and families.

A tractor parade will kick off at 11:45 a.m. at the Nationwide and Ohio Farm Bureau 4-H Center at 2201 Fred Taylor Drive on the Ohio State University campus in Columbus.

Gov. Ted Strickland and Brenda Hastings, a dairy farmer from Burton, will speak about noon, a press release issued on Friday, Oct. 9 said.

Just think if you vote no, you are letting the US Humane Society come in and control everything. That means prices for everything that you eat will skyrocket. Just remember that it is the farmers that supply the basics for your food. If you were raised in the city, a lot of people don’t realize that it is the farmers who supply your food. If the USHS comes in, they will be controling your food supply. Hope you like becoming a vegetarian. That is a major possibility!!! They do not want you to eat meat. I know that there are a lot of people who like their steaks, hamburgers, eggs, milk, and the list goes on….I think people need to think long and hard. VOTE YES ON ISSUE 2!!!

Voting NO……. It doesn’t seem broken to me and the last thing I want is politically motivated government trying to FIX it. NO ON 2

I support a YES vote on Issue 2 so that we can ensure that regulatory control of Ohio farms stays in the hands of Ohio residents. Special interest groups from outside the state cannot be allowed to impose inflexible and impractical rules on Ohio farmers.

As part of the Obama Administration’s “Change” we are changing Government. We are adding more Agencies, Departments, Offices and more importantly, adding jobs. Grow Government and grow jobs. Only problem is we have no money to pay for aall this new Government.

Yes, way too broad in the language and I’m not convinced that this is needed. It seems like a power play and I’m sure it’s going to cost us more money somewhere along the line.

Please READ what you are voting for in Issue 2. The wording is too broad. Why added in granite to the State Constitution? We already have protection in place. Why should I trust 13 unknown people to run such an important issue.
