Fili-Boehner!

House Minority Leader John Boehner was getting downright senatorial on the floor of the House of Representatives Friday night, doing the House version of a filibuster by reading portions of the cap and trade bill Democrats are trying to pass.

By tradition, three Members of the House have the right to deliver unlimited floor remarks - the Speaker, the Majority Leader, and the Minority Leader.

That means Boehner’s got the podium - and he isn’t going to give it up quickly.

His staff is calling it a “Fili-Boehner.”

UPDATE: The “Fili-Boehner,” as it were lasted around an hour before the House voted, and narrowly passed, the bill.

We welcome bets or guesses on how long Boehner, R-West Chester, can talk about this bill before Democrats get to vote on the bill. .

All the Dems want to do is control people’s lives and take away our freedoms. Global warming is a natural re-occuring process that would happen whether we are paying high energy taxes or not. They are trying to tax us for a natural process.

Thank You Rep.Boehner for taking the democrats to task. This global warming fiasco will make our lives much harder in the future. Electricity will rise by 95%, gasoline by 75%. MIT did a study that estimated it will cost each family $3500 to pay for this mess. This doesn’t include the inflated prices of all products due to higher energy costs. When gas goes up by 75% the cost of trucking goes up by 75%, food cost up by 75% and on and on. This bill easily could end up costing a family of four $10,500 per year plus inflation. Democrats don’t care so long as they have more control over our lives.

Thank God that John is speaking about this miscarrage of a bill, Global Warming may be real, but the temperature of the earth has been changing every few years. The Green Gods are merely using programs on their computers that are using data from the last 20 to 40 years. Every 25 years or so we have a hot series of years and then cold. Cold in the late 20s, the early 50s and the 70s. Each had a hot series ahead of it. Nature balances itself out without the help of the Chicago mob.

If you are sitting anywhere in the Midwest, thank global warming for melting all of the ice that was once sitting over the top of us. And if you would really like to check your facts, which I’m sure most of you conspiracy loving individuals won’t do; check to see how many of the temperature sensors throughout the world are located in parking lots, on top of buildings or just simply inaccurate. Then do a little more research into what effects global cooling has had throughout the centuries on crop production, spreading of diseases, etc. THEN…look into what effect a warming trend does for crop production, etc. I know you won’t, so don’t bother lying about it on your next post, just keep drinking the juice.

Jesse, you believe in global warming? Me too, after every ice age, there is global warming. The earth warms and cools and has been for 4 billion + years. Check your history and see when man arrived and better yet, when man began driving cars.

Thank you to all of our reps that voted against this bill. This bill would not have passed if not for 8 repub traitors. Thankfully none were from Ohio. Democrats knew this would hurt us and enough voted against the bill to stop it, if it was not for 8 repub traitors. Bono Mack (CA) 202-225-5330 Castle (DE) 202-225-4165 Kirk (IL) 202-225-4835 Lance (NJ) 202-225-5361 Lobiondo (NJ) 202-225-6572 McHugh (NY) 202-225-4611 Reichart (WA) 202-225-7761 Chris Smith (NJ) 202-225-3765 So what did these traitors get to sell out Americans? Remember these traitors when you can’t afford your heating bill. Remember these traitors when you see your costs rising. Stock up on candles. Get Kerosene lanterns. Hope you have a fireplace.

Man made global warming is unsettled science with many skeptics within the scientific community; yet, the Dems want to forge ahead, imposing California type regulations on the rest of the nation. The focus of Boehner’s debate was a 300 page amendment added to the bill at 3AM. At the time the Democrats wanted to bring it to a vote, it still wasn’t in readable form; thus, few that voted for it had no clue as to what it really said. For instance, one sentence seemed to give the federal government power to impose rules forcing homeowners selling their house to have it inspected for energy efficiency and if it did not pass, they would have to foot the bill to do so. The bill was a mess, the purpose was pure political theater, it would have raised taxes in the middle of a recession, cost 2M jobs per year while only promising as yet to be determined “green jobs”. George Will’s column today highlighted nicely how thats working for Spain (FYI - its not!)

Boehner likes the spotlight like he likes his tan. Global warming is real people. Finally, science wins over the lobby folks.

I am glad Rep. Boehner is fighting against this horrible bill. I hope that people look carefully who voted for this bill and vote them out of office next election.

Thank you, Rep. Boehner for standing up for freedom. Even Green Peace did not want this Cap and Trade bill to pass.
