Local Dems protest McCain trade policies
As Republican presidential candidate John McCain wraps up a trip to Colombia and Mexico, labor leaders and Democrats in Dayton and two other Ohio cities plan press conferences on Thursday, July 3, to protest McCain’s support for NAFTA and other trade agreements.
The Dayton “Gone to Mexico” - as in jobs gone to Mexico - event is set for 11 a.m. at the main entrance off the former Delphi brake plant, located off of Wagner Ford Road, a press release said.
Those scheduled to attend include: local AFL-CIO leader Wes Wells; state Rep. Fred Strahorn of Dayton, Dayton City Commissioner Nan Whaley and Jane Mitakides, Democratic candidate for the U.S. House in the Third District.
The other events are set for Lima and Niles, near Youngstown.
The events will emphasize “pain and suffering” caused by loss of jobs as a result of NAFTA and other trade policies.

Wow, the two above are really out there. No wonder our country is in such a mess. Someone actually allows the two to go to the polls. The Obama/Clinton ticket will reign supreme!By Ethel S.

When Sen. Obama was on the primary campaign trail, he talked tough about NAFTA. And then when he went to Canada, he told the leaders he did not mean it, it was just campaign talk. Again how many promises will Sen. Obama continue to break? So far, Sen. Obama has flipped on FISA, campaign finance reform after signing a pledge, hedging on pulling out the troop of Iraq and has not visited there since 2006. He uses the excuse now that he has to go to the middle now. So what Sen. Obama said earlier, may be different today, and then tomorrow. Sen. Obama is definitely about change and he does it all the time especially when he is campaigning. Sen. McCain has the best energy security proposals which are important to getting our economy going again.By Rick

And how do his trade policies differ from President Clinton’s? Probably very little.
