‘Hunger Force’ is finally back

I have waited for what feels like an eternity for the return of my favorite Adult Swim cartoon, “Aqua Teen Hunger Force.” This previous Sunday evening I finally got what I wanted.

They seem to have been on hiatus for 2+ years to make such fine quality shows such as “12 oz. mouse,” “Squidbillies” and “Tom Goes to the Mayor.” (If you can’t pick up the sarcasm, I’ll try harder next time)

As far as the new episode is concerned, it was not their finest, but it was not their worst either. The episode, titled ****isode (the stars represent a naughty word), centered around having a valuable piece of the male anatomy removed. Shake, Meatwad, Frylock and Carl head to a fast food type joint. The restaurant is having a contest where you peel off the bottom of your beverage container (which everyone does before they finish their drink). The prizes vary but range from a free serving of Teriyaki fries to having your **** ripped off.

I’ll stop there. That all takes place within the first minutes of the show so just image what awaits you in the rest of this 15 minute episode.

Aqua Teen Hunger Force was something that I found amusing as a novelty, but got sick of very quickly. When it’s on, it’s on. But when it’s off, it’s reeeeeeally off. Which is more than I can say for most of the rest of Adult Swim’s original programming.
