Busy moms don’t want your pity

If you’re like me, your weekend schedule looked something like this:

Saturday: son’s all-day wrestling tournament, daughter’s basketball game, 3-hour organization meeting, hockey game with friends.

Sunday: church commitments till noon, son’s birthday party, 90-minute organization meeting, movie night with kids.

Squeeze in time to cook meals for the fam and take a shower or two, and I was booked solid.

But I’m not complaining, and I’m not asking for pity. In fact, I’ll take some praise, if you please.

I certainly agree that I’m stretched thin, but I’ve taken on these commitments voluntarily and without regret.

I am Mommy, hear me roar.

With each sporting event attended and errand checked off my to-do list, I am celebrating the “Super Mom” that is within us all. Just living the dream, baby.

So if you see me running around town with frizzy hair, rumpled jeans and sans makeup, cut me some slack.

Moms don’t have to be beautiful; we just have to be there.

One of these days I’m going to wear makeup and heels. Livin’ the moment!
