UFC Fight Night 19 fighters make weight for Wednesday’s OKC event
On Wednesday the Ultimate Fighting Championship returns to Oklahoma for the first time in 15 years when it hosts UFC Fight Night 19 at the Cox Convention Center in Oklahoma City.
All 22 competitors taking part in the event, including headliners Nate Diaz (14-4) and Melvin Guillard (22-7-2), today made weight for the national televised event.
The event airs at 8 p.m. on Spike TV prior to the debut episode of “The Ultimate Fighter 10,” a heavyweights-only season of the UFC’s reality series.
Although not part of the televised main card, former Ohio high school state wrestling champion C.B. Dollaway (8-2) takes on UFC newcomer Jay Silva (5-1) at UFC Fight Night 19. Dollaway, the middleweight runner-up on the seventh season of “TUF,” won his state title at Northmor High School in Mount Gilead and later had a successful career with Arizona State’s wrestling program.
