School board plans special meeting

The Middletown Board of Education has set a special meeting for 7:30 a.m. Thursday, June 4.

The notice says: “The Board will meet in executive session to discuss personnel issues and to consider the employment of a public employee. Board action may follow.”

When contacted, board Vice President Katie McNeil said “I don’t know what will happen there” and board member Chris Fiora said “I don’t know what’s going to go until it goes on.” Other members of the board could not immediately be reached for comment. The board has the right to meet privately to discuss personnel issues.

Board President Greg Tyus is leaving today for a mission trip and will be out of town for this meeting.

The meeting will take place in the administration building at 1515 Girard Avenue.

Hopefully, the board will discipline one of their own, John Sauter for breaching Board Ethics Codes as put forth in the Board of Education Policy: Critizing employees in public. It’s really funny that he expects students to follow the rules and then he breaks the rules set forth for him. If a student would do something like that, he would want him/her expelled from school! Come on Board… Expell him no

Critcizing employees in public? Why is that wrong? The public has a right to know what is going on behind the scenes since we’re financing this whole mess.I would encourage any public servant to reveal any and all information pertaining to publicly financed positions. No secrets withheld from those that are paying.

You said it VietVet! I applaud John Sauter for saying “enough is enough!” this has gone on too long. The schools are filled with thugs that should be disciplined. The teachers in this district are fed up with being spat upon and not being able to do anything about it. If you think your kids are so great you teach them!
