Math teacher makes subject relevant
Students in Kristen Dursch’s math classes know they’re learning more than textbook equations.
“Students see a value in learning what she is teaching because they can relate to it,” said Anthony Wayne Elementary School principal Dana Miller.
“She creates lessons for her math students that are authentic, real-life examples of how we use math in our everyday lives,” Miller said.
Dursch was selected as the Teacher of Excellence for Franklin City Schools by the Area Progress Council of Warren County.
“No teacher is more deserving of this award than Mrs. Dursch,” Miller said. “Any parent should feel lucky to have a student in her class.”
