Board agrees on makeup day
Franklin’s morning kindergarten students will likely go a full day on June 5 to make up time for missing school for snow and the September windstorm.
The Board of Education met last night and - though they didn’t need to vote on the issue - agreed it would be best for the kindergarten students to go a full day on June 5 instead of continuing school into the next week and having them make up a half day on June 8.
The students will spend the day at the high school - which wraps up the year on June 4 - with a field day, lunch and then a movie.
Superintendent Arnol Elam said the parent teacher organization will be helping.
All Franklin students will be making up days on June 3 and June 4. Students at Anthony Wayne, Schenck, Pennyroyal and kindergarten students will also go June 5.
