Three great plays this weekend

This is a great weekend for theater.

Three local high schools are putting on musicals starting today.

Middletown High School students are doing a very colorful and fun on stage performance of Beauty and the Beast - complete with all the songs from the Disney movie plus a few extra.

You can see Beauty and the Beast at 7:30 p.m. today and Saturday and at 2:30 p.m. Sunday at Middletown High School, at 601 N. Breiel Blvd. Tickets at the door are $10 for adults; $8 for students

Franklin High School is doing Bye Bye Birdie, a great one for anyone who loves Elvis.

Bye Bye Birdie will be on at 7:30 p.m. today and Saturday at the high school, 750 E. Fourth St. Tickets are $10 for adults; $8 for senior citizens.

Madison High School students will present the musical comedy “Thoroughly Modern Millie,” a 1920s musical popular on Broadway.

“Thoroughly Modern Millie” will start at 7:30 p.m. today and Saturday and 2:30 p.m. Sunday at the jr./sn. high school. Admission is $8 at the door.
