Board plans to select new member this month
The Franklin Board of Education is accepting letters of interest and/or resumes for the seat recently vacated by Vice President John Griffo, who resigned for health reasons.
Materials should be submitted to the superintendent’s office at Hampton Bennett by the end of business Friday, Nov. 14.
The board will review applications at their Nov. 17 meeting and intend to formally approve the replacement at their Nov. 24 meeting.
Griffo’s resignation was accepted at the Oct. 27 board meeting. The board has 30 days to appoint a new member,w ho will serve the remainder of Griffo’s term until Dec. 31, 2009.
“John’s fellow board members certainly wish him and his family all the best. We will definitely keep him in our thoughts and prayers as he deals with his health concerns. Mr. Griffo served the community well during his time on the board. He was an asset to this Board and this district, and he will be missed,” said Board President Chris Sizemore.
Sizemore also reminds applicants that according to the Ohio School Boards Association, people serving on school boards in Ohio must be district residents and registered voters.
