Franklin meets Monday

The Franklin Board of Education meets Monday, with a pretty routine agenda.

The board will be discussing how to proceed with appointing a new member to the board after the announcement yesterday that Vice President John Griffo is resigning.

The board must wait 10 days to appoint someone, but must take that action within 30 days. Griffo’s term was through November 2009.

The board will also be recognizing Gerke Elementary School being named a “School of Promise” by the State Superintendent for its student achievement in reading.

Franklin meets at 6 p.m. at the Hampton Bennett Administration Building on East Sixth Street.
