Court upholds land transfer decision
The Franklin County Common Pleas Court has upheld the decision by the State Board of Education to deny a request by Middletown City Schools for the transfer of 1,600 acres of land into the district.
“Because the State Board’s decision is in accordance with law and is supported by reliable, probative, and substantial evidence, it is affirmed,” according to the ruling, which is stamped with a Sept. 5 date, but was sent to Franklin Board of Education members today.
Middletown and Franklin City Schools have been involved in the dispute for the land near Interstate 75 for three years.
