Roof repairs approved

The Franklin Board of Education approved roof repairs to the Laura Farrell school building, which is being used by the Warren County Educational Service Center.

The roof is “in such disrepair that it is leaking in several areas in the office and classroom space” (according to the resolution) and wasn’t scheduled to be worked on until the 2010-11 school year.

Franklin is still looking for a permanent business manager, and former Edgewood Superintendent Tom York is serving as interim.

Next meeting

The school board meets again Sept. 22 and will be holding a hearing on inside millage.

It will be the first of two public hearings on the subject the board plans to have so they are ready to claim money should Franklin decide to withdraw from Franklin Twp., a move which would free tax money for the city or schools to claim.
