Church to give away school supplies

Times are hard financially this year for many, maybe most, families. And this year’s back to school budget is probably tighter than those tennis shoes from last year.

But some local churches are providing a little relief for families, including the Vineyard Community Church in Franklin. Pastor Chuck told me the church is giving away supplies to Franklin families at the free store on Main Street from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 16.

I heard a similar give-away at another Franklin church brought a crowd of at least 200 people last weekend.
