Welcome to the Journal’s education blog
If you’re reading this, you’ve found the Middletown Journal’s new education blog.
This blog will focus on local, state and national education issues and trends as it relates to education in the area. Posts will give additional information on news stories I’ve written, pose questions regarding education issues, be a home to items that may not work for a news story or point out interesting state or national education stories from other outlets.
Ideally, this will also be a place where you can discuss local educational issues with other readers, suggest story ideas or topics and inform my reporting by pointing out the issues you really want to read about by leaving a comment on the blog or e-mailing me.
I’ve been covering education for a little over two years. As the education reporter for the Journal, I cover four traditional public school districts (Middletown, Edgewood, Madison and Valley View), general education issues and the area’s private, community and career-tech schools.
Several of the Journal’s reporters will begin blogs in the next couple weeks, including Middletown City Hall reporter Ed Richter; Monroe reporter Denise Wilson and Butler County Reporter Josh Sweigart. You can see a list of all of the blogs in Cox Ohio Publishing here and as the other reporters start, their blogs will appear in the list.
