Teen in trouble for scaring jogger in Springboro

SPRINGBORO Sept. 16 An officer at Ohio 73 and Park Lane was approached by a female screaming for help. She was very panicked and said she needed help as she dropped to the ground on her knees. The complainant said a mini van pulled up next to her while she was jogging and an occupant pulled a gun, pointed it and shot several times. She dropped to the ground and yelled at two older people who were nearby to do the same. The vehicles then sped off. The complainant said the shots were so loud she could hear them despite the headphones she was wearing. The vehicle was located on Ohio 73 at Clearcreek Franklin Road and two males were detained. The complainant identified the subject who pointed the gun at her. The van was searched but a gun was not located. The 15-year-old subject confessed to pointing his hand out the passenger window and making a gun gesture with his hand. He said he made several loud, gun-shot like noises. The subject also said it was a game he and the others play. He was arrested for inducing panic.
