Woman says taxpayer-paid-for flowers belong to her

ENGLEWOOD— July 20: An off-duty dispatcher notified police that a woman was stealing flowers from the front of the Englewood Government Center, 333 W. National Road.

The woman said the flowers she was pulling were government flowers, and that she was a taxpayer so they belonged to her.

She was ordered to put the flowers back into the ground and that she was going to be cited for theft.

The subject then became irate and stated, “If I’m getting charged with something I’m taking these flowers with me.”
