Boy, 14, takes Mom’s car because he ‘wanted to’

ENGLEWOOD June 1 A resident in the 500 block of South Main Street reported her 14-year-old son took her vehicle and drove it around for about three hours. He used her spare key while she was at work. She advised police she told him he wasn’t to leave the house while she was gone. The boy told officers he took the vehicle and drove it to a store on Salem Avenue in Trotwood. He was asked why he took it and he said because he “wanted to.” The boy was transported to Montgomery County Juvenile Intervention Center.
