It’s all gun and games until somebody gets hurt

VANDALIA April 3 A resident in the 800 block of Continental Court called police to report someone fired shots at her apartment. Officers arrived on scene and observed a bullet on her living room floor, just a few feet from where she’d been sitting. There was a visible bullet hole in her ceiling. The officers contacted the resident above the complaint and asked where the gun was. He led them to his kitchen, where the gun was in a drawer. The subject advised he was sitting at his kitchen table playing with the Kel-Tec 9mm gun and pulled the trigger, firing a slug into his living room floor. He said he didn’t think it was loaded. The subject advised he was sorry, and was issued a summons for discharging firearms. The gun was confiscated and will be sent to the lab for a function test.
