Getting drunk and running in the street don’t mix
ENGLEWOOD — March 15: Officers were dispatched to the 9000 block of North Main Street on report of a subject “being stalked by a semi.”
When they arrived a tow truck was parked in the of 9100 North Main Street. The tow driver said he observed a male who appeared to be intoxicated crossing Main Street several times for no apparent reason.
He also said the man was stumbling into traffic and made obscene gestures at vehicles as they passed. The tow driver said he was concerned for the man’s safety due to the high volume of traffic.
The officer observed the man who was unable to walk in a straight line. He told the officer he only crossed the street once and didn’t answer when asked why he was out walking while he was drunk.
There was a strong odor of alcohol about the subject and his mother was contacted. The 18-year-old was issued a summons for disorderly conduct and released to his mother.
