RedHawks Osborn MAC Freshman of the Year
Miami University’s Courtney Osborn is the Mid-American Conference Freshman of the Year, the conference office announced this morning.
Osborn is the first MAC Freshman of the Year in Miami history. She also was named to the All-MAC third team. Osborn was joined on the all-rookie team by fellow frosh Kirsten Olowinski.
Osborn leads the RedHawks in scoring at 16.8 points per game. She led the team in scoring in 17 of its 30 games. Osborn also averages 4.1 assists per game.
Olowinski averages 7.4 points and 6.0 rebounds per game. She leads the team and is fourth in the MAC with 41 blocks, the fifth-best single season block total in MU history.
The eighth-seeded RedHawks meet No. 1 Bowling Green at 4 p.m. Wednesday in Cleveland in the MAC Tournament quarterfinals.
