Hockey: No score after 1 period
By Pete Conrad
The top-ranked Miami RedHawks and Ohio State Buckeyes are scoreless after one period of their Central Collegiate Hockey Association game tonight, Dec. 12 at Steve Cady Arena.
The RedHawks peppered OSU goalie Dustin Carlson with 13 shots, including several in the closing minutes of the period, but they could not find the mark. Miami goalie Connor Knapp, seeking his second straight shutout, stopped all eight shots aimed his way.
Miami, coming off a 6-0 victory Friday night at Ohio State, is looking for its fourth straight shutout.
Since Miami’s defense allowed eight goals at the Subway Holiday Classic Nov. 27-28 the RedHawks have blanked their opponents over the last 11 periods, including the third period of their 5-5 tie at North Dakota.
