UC holds on to beat Miami

The 19th-ranked Cincinnati Bearcats held off an upset bid by the Miami RedHawks to win 63-59 tonight, Dec. 10 at U.S. Bank Arena.
Miami scored 12 points in the final 40 seconds, but the Bearcats hit six straight free throws to keep the RedHawks at bay.
Freshman Lance Stephenson led UC with 17 points and eight rebounds.
Miami was led by Kenny Hayes with 19 points.

UC leads Miami by three

The 19th-ranked Cincinnati Bearcats lead the Miami RedHawks 43-40 with 7:34 left in the second half tonight, Dec. 10 at U.S. Bank Arena.
Miami, which has lost two straight, has not beaten a ranked opponent in almost eight years and has not defeated UC in 19 years.
Lance Stephenson leads the Bearcats with 15 points, which is a season high for the 6-foot-5 freshman.
Nick Winbush leads Miami with 10 points and Kenny Hayes has nine.

It’s close at halftime between Miami, UC

The 19th-ranked Cincinnati Bearcats lead the Miami RedHawks 24-23 at halftime tonight, Dec. 10 at U.S. Bank Arena.
UC led by as many as nine points, but Miami rallied to outscore the Bearcats 17-9 over the final eight minutes of the half.
The Bearcats struggled on offense, hitting only 9-of-28 field goal attempts (32.1 percent), including 0-of-7 shots from the 3-point stripe, and also were just 6-of-11 from the foul line.
Freshman Lance Stephenson leads the Bearcats with 10 points. Nick Winbush has seven for Miami and Julian Mavunga has scored five off the bench.

Bearcats lead RedHawks by 7

The 19th-ranked Cincinnati Bearcats lead the Miami RedHawks 13-6 with 11:42 left in the first half at U.S. Bank Arena.
UC has scored nine straight points after Miami took an early 6-4 lead.
Lance Stephenson leads UC with six points on back-to-back three-point plays.
