Miami hockey retains top ranking

Despite two home ties (shootout losses) against Ferris State over the weekend, the Miami hockey team is still No. 1 in the USCHO national poll released Monday.

The RedHawks (8-1-3) are followed in the top five by North Dakota (7-2-1), Denver (6-3-1), Mass-Lowell (7-2-1) and Cornell (4-1-0). Miami and four other teams received first-place votes.

Miami returns to the ice this weekend for a two-game CCHA series at Western Michigan.
