HOCKEY: Miami scores!
With a flare for the dramatic and time running out on the second period of play, Miami junior center Andy Miele stole a Ferris State pass on the left side of the Miami zone. He then raced up the left side of the rink, crossed into Bulldog territory just inside the Ferris State blue line and quckly dished off a pass to the right to freshman right defenseman Joe Hartman for a quick shot into the right of the goal!
Tie game as the near-capacity partisan Miami crowd goes bonkers. (They just announced the attendance as 3,337)
Hartman’s goal came when Ferris State was enjoying their third power play of the game, and with just 1.3 seconds left on the second period game clock.
The Village People’s “YMCA” is blaring from the loudspeakers, and a pair of Zambonis are groomin’ up the Cady Arena ice.
Miami has outshot Ferris State by a 20-13 margin thus far.
The third and final period is set to begin in just over 9 minutes from now.
