Miami defense looking strong against Falcons
By Pete Conrad
The Miami RedHawks’ defense is holding its own so far against Bowling Green quarterback Tyler Sheehan, the Mid-American Conference leader in passing yardage and total offense.
Miami and Bowling Green are tied 7-7 going into the second quarter.
The Falcons scored on a 19-yard touchdown run by Freddie Barnes after recovering a fumble on the opening kickoff. Miami tied the score on a 2-yard run by Zac Dysert.
Bowling Green has recorded only two first downs and just 33 total yards against Miami, which recovered a fumble late in the opening quarter when Falcons punter Nick Iovinelli was unable to get a kick off and was tackled by Luke Kelly.
Miami has the ball at Bowling Green’s 17-yard line.
