Miami punter awarded football scholarship from Haywood

Miami University’s Chris DiCesare has earned the nod as the RedHawks’ punter and will receive a football scholarship this year, head coach Mike Haywood said on his Twitter earlier today.

“It was a thrill today to award a football scholarship to our starting punter Chris DiCesare,” Haywood wrote. “I hope to reward a walk-on player every year.”

DiSesare, a 6-foot-2, 221-pound senior who has been impressive in summer practice with punts that are consistently longer and deeper than the team’s other kickers, is from St. Clairsville.
