Celebrate the fake mustache this Saturday

Many of you may be giving your livers and wallets a break after a party-packed New Year’s weekend. But for those of you up for a memorable start to 2011, we offer these suggestions for this weekend.

‘Stache Bash 2011

If the title of this event isn’t enough to entice you, let us elaborate.

To celebrate the second anniversary of its founding, The Gem City Fake Mustache Society is hosting a party full of “mystery, mustachery and dancing” according to its Facebook page.

The event is open to the public and everyone will be provided with a fake ‘stache for the evening.

Where: Legends Sports Pub and Grille, 7617 Dayton Springfield Road, Enon

When: 8 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 8

The bite: No cover

King of Pop Skate

OK, this one isn’t at a bar, but it just sounds so darn fun.

If you haven’t checked out the new ice rink at River Scape, do so this Friday night when you can skate the night away to the hits of the one and only Michael Jackson. They’ll be playing ‘em all, from the Jackson 5 right on through “Bad” and beyond.

Where: River Scape Metro Park, 111 E. Monument Ave., Dayton

When: 7 to 10 p.m., Friday, Jan. 7

The bite: $5, includes skate rental.
