American Ale Idol contest begins this week at Soft Rock Cafe
So, you think you can sing do you? If the answer is a resounding yes you may just have what it takes to win the first ever American Ale Idol event happening at various Miami Valley sports bars from now until September.
Here’s what you need to know according to the Miami Valley Restaurant Association, the event’s main sponsor: There’s no purchase necessary. Those entering must be 21 years of age or older. Cash and prizes will be awarded to the top four winners. Prizes include a tooth whitening from Dayton Dental Collaborative valued at $600, subs for a year from Milano’s valued at over $340 and wings for a year from BW3’s valued at over $400. The ten finalists chosen will receive a haircut and style from Miamisburg Urban Loft. Auditions will be held weekly at 9 p.m. Sign up between 8 and 9 p.m. on whatever day or days of your choosing. For those who prefer to observe, there will be drink and bucket specials at each location.

8/8- McGillicutty’s
8/11- Cadillac Jack’s - Finals
8/25/10- Soft Rock Cafe- Finals
9/01 - The Greene- 10 finalists to be chosen at a special 6 p.m. time
Judges include Deron Bell, Dr. Shellhouse of Dayton Dental Collaborative, 2 Miami Valley Restaurant Association judges and yours truly — Alexis Larsen, a Dayton Daily News Lounge Lizard looking forward to meeting and mingling with this year’s contestants and spectators.
