How to have big fun for little money: ’80s music, cheap drinks

As the holidays approach, you’ll want to pinch your pennies so you can buy Grandma that iPod shuffle. Here are some local bar events with tiny price tags.

L’80s Night at Blind Bob’s

In the never-ending saga that is Downtown Dayton’s L’80s Night, another move has been made. DJs Jay and Heather will now be spinning ’80s requests at Blind Bob’s every Tuesday. This Tuesday night tradition has been a part of the Dayton scene for more than four years, starting at The Pearl (now Club Vex), then moving to Therapy Cafe, and now coming to Blind Bob’s starting Dec. 1.

No matter where it has roamed, L’80s Night has always been a sure bet for some great music. So true ’80s fans, embrace the change of scenery and voyage to the Oregon District with Jay and Heather.

Where: Blind Bob’s, 510 E. Fifth St., Dayton

When: 10 p.m. every Tuesday

The bite: No cover

Customer Appreciation Night at Dark Horse Tavern

Where: Dark Horse Tavern, 209 Byers Road, Miamisburg

When: Starting at 5 p.m. every Wednesday
