This weekend’s bar best bets

You’ve worked hard all week (or at least you pretended to when the boss came around), so unwind at one of these best bet bar events this weekend.

Hawaiian Luau party at South Beach Night Club

Start the weekend off with some Hawaiian flair at a luau sponsored by South Beach Night Club, LA Tan and Old Hickory Bar-B-Q. The evening will begin with a dinner party at Old Hickory Bar-B-Q on Brown Street at 6 p.m. Then grab your grass skirt and head to South Beach for an all-night luau. Guys will be given leis when they come through the door and can give them to the lady of their choice. $250 in cash prizes will be awarded to the lady who gets laid the most. Plus there will be dancing, a bikini contest and tropical drink specials for everyone.

Where: South Beach Night Club, 729 Lyons Road, Centerville

When: 10 p.m. to 2 a.m. Friday, Aug. 21

The bite: $5 for guys 21 and up and ladies 18 and up.

DJ 2nd Nature at Atmosphere Night Club

Kate Worldwide and VIP Productions are bringing one of the best VJs in the biz to Dayton this Friday. The hype on DJ 2nd Nature is well deserved as he’s made a name for himself mixing and scratching video edits, remixes and movie clips at nightclubs and parties for celebrities around the world. He is also known across the DJ industry for his audio production and remixes as well as for bringing a comedic element to his shows. Chances are if you’ve been to a nightclub, you’ve heard a DJ 2nd Nature production and haven’t even realized it. Get to know the man behind the mixes by checking him out live at Atmosphere this Friday.

Where: Atmosphere Night Club, 507 Miamisburg Centerville Road, Centerville

When: 10 p.m. Friday, Aug. 21

The bite: $7 cover, 21 and up only. Limited VIP tables are available; call Tony at (937) 232-0980 to reserve a spot.

Fling Fest & Awesome Ales at Boston’s

Saturday is all about beer and bar games at Boston’s Bistro and Pub. If you think you’re up to the challenge, compete in the “Triathlon”. The competition events are disc golf, corn hole and darts. Sign-up for the competition by 12:45 p.m. at Westbrook Park (on Jean Drive in Dayton). Disc golf will tee-off at 1 p.m. at the park. Corn hole and dart competitions will be at Boston’s following disc golf. Winners will be announced at 6 p.m. for each activity and cash payouts awarded for first, second and third place in the triathalon.

Non-athletes can still enjoy the beer festival, live music and brewing demonstration by the DRAFT Homebrewing Club. All proceeds will go to the Diabetes Association Dayton Area.

When: Saturday, Aug. 22

Thanks for getting the word out about our event at South Beach. Hope to see you all out at South Beach Friday night!!! Everyone get there early, because we’re expected to meet occupancy! Come on out! It’ll be a blast!
