Are you planning any Michael Jackson tribute events?

Regardless of how you feel about Michael Jackson, it’s hard to argue the impact he’s had on music history. We’re wondering if any local dance clubs or live music venues are planning any special tribute events such as a night of Michael Jackson tunes.

Please email ActiveDayton.com editor Michelle Fong at mfong@coxohio.com with the details.

Just left Milano’s on Brown Street about 30 minutes ago. Michael Jackson tunes were playing on the juke box - patrons and staff were glued to the tube - waxing and waning nostalgic for the gold old days of Michael Jackson… Cheers to you MJ!

The memory of Michael’s music that stands out for me, as a DJ, was the nights that I played Don’t Stop (Till You Get Enough) for over an hour in the NCO club at WPAFB. Perhaps…

RIP Michael Jackson… I know alot of hard-rockers who, when asked to explain why they listened to Beat It, said “because that’s Eddie Van Halen on guitar, man”. Suuuurreee… Rock With You, Billie Jean & The Way You Make Me Feel are three of the coolest songs ever, regardless of genre. Michael Jackson became such a polarizing & sympathetic figure it was almost like he didn’t deserve the attention that he absolutely brought on himself with his lifestyle. With that said, my man rocked his crotch-grabbing, glitter socks, high-pants, one-gloved a*s off, didn’t he??

Why Bother? He was good a long time ago. People die. Deal with it. People make me laugh with their obsessions with over paid losers. He was just a man (or woman)… a few good songs does not make him God. It is sad, but he killed himself slowly. Get over it. It screwed kids, lit and fig, if you know what i mean….

I don’t understand why we get so emotional and nostalgiac. The guy was filthy rich, had everything he wanted while most of us suckers paid for it. Hey, we are all evolved creatures of biomass, right? So this is absolutely irrelevant. Not one tear should be shed: it is totally inconsistent with who we have come to be as evolved life forms.

No, Stacy, we’re not all evolved. Your post proves that quite well. Evolved creatures would be considerate of others.

Cant anyone just answer the damn question that was asked about Tributes instead of rambling on about accusations that were never proved, just because you have pent up aggresions towards your Uncles or whoever hurt you…P.S. Micheal Jackson is one of the Greatest Artists of all time..& will be sadly missed by all normal people.
